The Garfield Institute of Music, established in 2007, is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the holistic development of youth, with a particular focus on at-risk individuals. Our mission revolves around helping young people from diverse backgrounds build character, confidence, and essential skills that will enable them to become responsible and civic-minded adults. The Garfield Institute of Music operates under the United States Rehabilitation Agency for Youth (USRAY), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving as an umbrella for youth development, education, and rehabilitation initiatives. GIM functions as a core program within USRAY’s performing arts and leadership development model. We achieve this mission through a multifaceted approach that emphasizes Arts Education, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Agriculture, and Youth Development. As a tax-exempt organization, the Garfield Institute of Music operates with a commitment to serving the community and making a positive impact on the lives of young people. Our status as a tax-exempt entity allows us to focus our resources on the programs and initiatives that align with our mission.
